The Slice Doctor and our Environment

The Slice Doctor International recognises that our operations and those of our suppliers may have the potential to affect the environment we all live in. Therefore, we only transact business with suppliers who meet all regulatory requirements and in addition will do the following:

  • Our suppliers have been chosen because they use as much recycled material in their/our products as possible, and will continue to do so. All containers used in our dispatch department are recycled.
  • We try to source all products from sustainable sources where possible, and the vast majority of our products are 100% recyclable.
  • Our custom made boxes are produced from up to 90% recycled board; the rest is sourced from managed forests.
  • Our packaging suppliers use various suppliers for our covering papers, all of which are able to supply us with a Statement of Origin and recyclable qualities upon request.
  • Any waste card or paper generated from our supplier's box making division gets passed on to local schools, who use these items in their Art/Craft Lessons. Our suppliers create very little waste from their Manufacturing Dept. We have very little too.
  • We check with all our suppliers to find out the content and recyclable qualities of the products they sell to us. We are always looking to source more and more Eco-Friendly products to add to our stock range.

The Slice Doctor and our suppliers aim to incorporate in our environmental practices the best available technology that is economically achievable, and we will minimise the use of all materials and energy and not use any materials derived from endangered species. We all aim to apply the principles of reduction, reuse and recycling to the management of our products and packaging.

If you require any further information on a specific product or process, please ask us, we will be more than happy to get the answers for you.
